Below I have complied a list from the suggestions sent to me by members of the list re. films that I might screen to my students of ethnographic methods, to try to give them a sense of the ethnographic process. I’m afraid that although I had ideas of providing a more polished and annotated list I haven’t had time, so this has mainly been an exercise in pasting everyone’s recommendations into a list. Nor have I viewed all the films on the list, but I thought that it would be most useful to others teaching this academic year to send it out in its present form rather than wait a few months or longer for me to have time to do that.
